LANCASTER, PA– High Construction Inc. announced that it was awarded a $4.6 million contract for the emergency department expansion project at Lancaster General Hospital, Lancaster, Pa.
High Construction is responsible for constructing the building shell, including concrete foundations, structural steel framing, and the exterior facade. Construction is underway and will be completed in the Spring of 2003.
The addition totals 62,000 square feet and covers four floors, including a basement, ground floor, first floor, and second floor. The expansion will be built along North Duke Street, in downtown Lancaster.
Ewing Cole Cherry Brott, Philadelphia, Pa., designed the hospital's addition. The design features an exterior of brick, cast stone, and aluminum composite panel, providing an enhanced, high-tech look. Multiple roof levels, large, curved windows, and multiple skylights will add interest to the structure.
